MEET THE WIDOWS

Hailing from Melbourne’s inner north,  Leila Byrne, Diz McKinnon and Liz Cashen first met more than ten years ago through the the Melbourne music scene and their love of singing. What started as an informal jam session quickly evolved into a vocal party of improvisation, harmonising and toe tapping rhythms. Two ukeleles and a banjolele later, and the Widows of the Parish was born.  

 

Known for their unique arrangements and powerful vocals, the Widows sing an intoxicating mix of bluegrass, Americana, gospel, and Blues. With soul-wrenching harmonies and great energy the Widows will have you alternatively stomping your feet and crooning along with them.
